Immunotoxicology

BOC Sciences has a professional team and practical experience in immunotoxicology, which can provide high-quality data. Immunotoxicology studies can be performed in accordance with international guidelines.

What is Immunotoxicology?

Immunotoxicology is a science that studies the influence of exogenous chemical substances and other harmful factors on the structure and function of the body's immune system and their mechanism of action, and evaluates the immunotoxicity of these harmful factors and/or provides preventive measures against their damage. Immunotoxicology uses theories and experimental methods of toxicology and immunology to conduct research.

Immunotoxicity

Immunotoxicity is the loss of immune tolerance of the body to its own tissue components or cell antigens, leading to a pathological immune response to its own tissue, causing damage to the tissue structure. Immunotoxicity includes suppression of immune function, allergy, autoimmunity, and other hyperthyroidism of immune function.

Immunogenicity

Immunogenicity refers to the property of an antigen to stimulate the body to form specific antibodies or sensitize lymphocytes. It is closely related to the molecular weight of the drug. Generally, small molecule drugs are not immunogenic. Peptide drugs are less immunogenic. Protein drugs, especially preventive vaccines, are highly immunogenic. Immunogenicity As the administration time increases, the frequency of administration increases, and the site of administration changes, the levels of typical products such as anti-drug antibody (ADA) and neutralizing antibody (NAb) will increase significantly.

Service Content

  • Study on the Mechanism of Immunotoxicity
  • Establish and improve immunotoxicity detection and evaluation methods
  • Risk assessment for immunotoxicity
  • Research on drugs and health products that can antagonize the immune toxicity caused by exogenous chemical substances

Service Purpose

The immunotoxicology test is to observe the adverse effects of drugs on the immune system of experimental animals and the mechanism of the effects. Through experiments, it is observed whether the immune function of animals is suppressed or immune deficiency occurs, whether the body's resistance is reduced, whether allergic reactions occur, and the possible causes of these reactions.

Service Scope

The immunotoxicology service of BOC Sciences supports the preclinical development of immunotoxicity assessment and immunogenicity analysis, and can meet customers' needs through preclinical sample analysis, clinical sample analysis, method development, method validation, immunotoxicity test, and immunogenicity test development needs. Our immunotoxicology platform adopts advanced technologies such as immunochemistry, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR and high-throughput sequencing. The trial design followed international guidelines. Testable substances include antibodies, recombinant proteins, peptides, ADCs, antisense oligonucleotides, siRNA and vaccines. We can also provide corresponding immunotoxicology consulting services according to the needs of customers.
