Protein production is the biotechnological process of generating a specific protein. It is typically manipulating the gene expression in an organism. The expression includes the transcription of the recombinant DNA to messenger RNA (mRNA), the translation of mRNA into polypeptide chains, which are ultimately folded into functional proteins and may be targeted to specific subcellular or extracellular locations.
BOC Sciences supports all steps of protein production including the mutagenesis and cloning of target genes in expression vectors, the heterologous expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts, as well as the subsequent purification of the corresponding proteins as a service. We have a range of state-of-the-art equipment for the producing of recombinant proteins, including high-throughput cloning and large-scale purification from bacteria, insect and mammalian cells.

Our laboratory possesses an AKTA pure M1 FPLC system that can run up to 5 columns in parallel, an Avestin C3 emulsiflex cell homogenizer and a cell culture suite. In addition, BOC is equipped with standard equipment such as shaker/incubators, Avanti J-26S centrifuge and an Implen UV-Vis spectrophotometer to accelerate protein purification and then scale up the protein production.
BOC Sciences' services range from fully determinating protein expression to production standards for structure determination. If you have any other protein requirement, you can contact us directly for immediate assistance.
